what is thai yoga bodywork?

What if you could participate in your own healing? Unlike conventional Western massage, Thai yoga bodywork incorporates mobility, stretching, meditation, and deep tissue pressure. Sessions take place fully clothed on a padded surface on the floor.

Assisted stretching and gentle movement will help us build an understanding of where your body feels stuck, overworked, or unsteady. Bodywork and myofascial release will facilitate deeper awareness of your whole body, from the muscles that work so hard for you, to the connective tissues and bones that support you, to the organs and nerves that hold and process so much every day. Mindful breathing and other meditative techniques will empower you to shift the old stories you are holding in your body, and create lasting change.

In addition to Thai yoga, my bodywork approach draws on my training in embodiment and somatic therapy, meditation, and sound therapy. A session with me might include anything from abdominal massage to herbal compresses and aromatherpy. As we continue to work together, our practice will evolve to meet your needs.

what to expect

1.5 - 2 HOURS

NEW CLIENTS - $280
RETURNING CLIENTS - $250

BEFORE

Drink plenty of water, wear stretchy clothes you are comfortable moving in (no jeans or shorts, please!), and arrive at the studio 5 minutes before your appointment with cash to pay your session balance. Check your confirmation email for instructions on arrival.

DURING

You’ll spend most of your session supine (on your back), and your session will consist of assisted stretching and mobility postures accompanied by pressure to release muscles, fascia, and stuck energy. We will communicate throughout your session to ensure you feel safe and comfortable. I will recommend some take-home practices to support your continued wellbeing.

AFTER

Drink more water! Give yourself at least half an hour before your next commitment so you can move slow and reset. I recommend spending some time in Fort Greene Park. Try not to drink alcohol for at least 24 hours, and get plenty of rest after your massage. Your body will thank you.
